We spent yesterday exploring the area just south of us. The weather has been nice, low 80s, P. Cloudy and nice breezes. We discovered yesterday that the repairs to the A/C in the car didn't work, so it was back to the dealer this morning. The part needed is in Springfield, so we sent them to get it. Even in the low 80s, one needs A/C...don't know how we survived the summer of 1962, all 6 of us made a trip from Minnesota to the east coast & back in a Ford Econoline with no A/C...it was no fun.
But we went to the Yankee Candle Factory store in South Deerfield and walked through that place...lots of folks shopping during their big summer sale. We bought some candles at decent prices and just took in the scene. Then we drove to Shelburne Falls and walked that place...water falls & a bridge of flowers were the big attraction. We also tried to watch the Firecracker Race from Daytona at a neighborhood bar in Turner Falls, MA, but the rain delay put a damper on that, never even saw the first lap...heard this morning that it ended at 245 this morning...we were both sound asleep at that time of the day.
We have A/C in the car and we left some money in the Vermont economy. We also got a tire with a slow leak repaired, so we should be good to go, at least for a few hours.
We are off to Boston in the morning...lots to do there. Stay tuned.
