5/3/2019  1/1-4/30/2019

It has been a pretty busy first 4 months.  We have been doing a lot of planning and getting ready for our next big adventure. We interviewed 2 different travel agents who both blew us off.  So we decided to do the planning in house. We are planning a 114 day trip to Europe as part of our summer.

In the meantime, we have been to lots of concerts (18), had our brother-in-law from PA here, seen several rocket launches, been to lunch with a lot of different friends and kept ourselves pretty busy. Friends we met in 2014 on the trip we took to Alaska were in Florida for the winter and came to visit for a few days.  We took them to Kennedy Space Center for a day and then went to Port Canaveral and watched a rocket launch, which they had never seen. Our friend Patti also drove down from Georgia and spent a few days with us. It is always fun when friends come see us.  We went to 2 football games too, a new Orlando franchise.  That was short lived, the league folded before they could play their 3rd home game. And the Orlando Predators Arena team are back, going to try again.

It has also been a sad time.  Between Jan 31 and May 1, we had 8 friends & former co-workers die from various issues, all gone too soon. Getting old is not for sissies, and losing friends is part of it.

Our daughter Lisa and her husband Dan celebrated 27 years of marriage in April, making us very happy they are doing so well. Our son Mark got a new job & a significant upgrade in responsibilities that went with it. He is working on software for the US Military and is testing it all before it gets published. Our 2 grandkids are 19 & 21...wow.

We spent April 8-21 at Gamble Rogers State Park near Flagler Beach, FL enjoying Spring at the Beach.  While there, we also celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary...amazing how quickly that went.  Lisa, Dan, Mark, Tyler & Kaylee were all at the beach with us.  We had a nice dinner at an amazing spot at the beach and the full moon rose out of the Atlantic to shine on our parade....nice!!

So, we have done a lot, all the while planning our big trip.  We have purchased all of the transportation, 6 cars, 11 airplane rides, 11 boats & 3 trains will be how we get around. We hope to visit 20 countries, 3 cruises, plenty of music, ride to the tops of mountains in the Alps, visit castles, see friends in 6 countries, and see places we have never seen, meet new people and get away from US politics for a few months. Barb has been reading lots of books so she is going to be our guide,

So stay tuned, I will be posting things from as many places as we can. We are going to Minnesota to spend a week with family and help Katelyn celebrate graduating from High School as the first step. So there is a lot coming up.

Keep track of us on Facebook if you want at SteveandBarb Larson.  We will have wifi most places, so that will be the most likely place.  I will post here when we get back.  There will not likely to be time while in Europe.
