5/27/14

Moving Day, from Finley Point State Park to Salmon Lake State Park, just south of Seeley Lake, MT on MT 83.  It was a very scenic drive with the Swan River & the Mission Range on one side of the road and the Swan Range of the Rocky Mountains on the other...a drive like that usually gets done too soon, and this was no exception.  Upon arrival at Salmon Lake SP we discovered two things:  the site we had chosen was pretty unlevel and there was no cell service, which also meant no internet connection through our tablet. With my sister Peggy in a very unstable condition, we thought 5 days with no internet would be no fun.  Read that last sentence again, a sure sign we are either too attached to the internet or it has become a very big part of our lives...probably a little of both. So, we changed to a more level site, filled up the fresh water holding tank and drove the car back to Seeley Lake (4 miles) where we found cell service and a very nice spot to sit and make decisions at the Chamber of Commerce office.  We had made reservations for a boat ride in Lewiston, Idaho which was going to require us moving anyway or a motel in Lewiston, so we decided to just move to Lewiston.  It has proven to be a very good decision. We made new reservations and cancelled a few and decided to move forward.  We went to the store and then back to the camper for a game or two of Yahtzee and brats on the grill.  No TV, no internet, no cell service, no water at our site or sewer...kind of quiet.
