9/16/2014

After a drive to Moab, we met our friends Bud & Helen at the Moab airport.  We were supposed to all go on a helicopter tour.  Turns out I have been enjoying myself too much and have gained a few pounds on this trip.  I had not been on a scale since we left home in April...I had no clue.  Rules being rules, the pilot said he couldn't take me, so I stayed behind while Barb and the rest went flying on a tour of Canyonlands National Park...guess I need to work on that little issue, it is not much.

When they got back, we followed them back to Moab, and after a couple of stops along the way, we stopped for lunch and then went to their camper.  They are on a 32 day National Parks tour with the same outfit we all went to Alaska, with together with 2 other couples from the Alaska group.  We sat and talked under a shade tree on a warm day.  We then loaded up and drove to meet up for a Jet Boat trip on the Colorado River.  10 of us boarded a boat and away we went,  Our captain likes to spin the boat periodically, which gets everyone wet, himself included.  We rode up river for an hour and then turned around and rode back.  I only have a few pictures, as our camera was securely in my pocket most of the time.  I was able to keep my hearing aids dry with the help of a hat :).

After the excursion, we all went back to Bud & Helen's camper, where we were joined by the two other couples from our Alaska adventure...mini reunion, fun times.  Seems they all are going to come visit us in Florida sooner than later.  Friends are the spice of life.

We drove back to Green River in the dark, again.  It seems the days aren't long enough these days. Tomorrow, we are going to go back and visit a couple of other sites in the Moab area, then move on to Colorado.  Seems strange  saying we are moving east to Colorado...hope the motor home doesn't object too much to the drive through western Colorado...I am going to give it another look on Wed.
