5/18/14

We moved on Friday from Anaconda to Finley Point, which is on a peninsula jutting out into Flathead Lake just east of Polson, MT.  We are at a State Park which only has 16 sites, all of which front Flathead Lake. It is a very pretty spot and as of right now, there is only one other camper here, a group of 4 from Alberta. We BBQ'd a steak and watched the sun set last night across the lake...nice way to end the day!

The trip from Anaconda was beautiful, I-90 to Missoula and then US 93 to Polson, all of which was designated as Scenic on the map.  Barb & I agree, we have the best site here & picking it was just luck, sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.  We will be here through Memorial Day weekend.

Yesterday, we drove all the way around Flathead Lake, stopping periodically to check out State Parks that dot the shores of the Lake.  We also stopped in Big Fork and walked around a bit near Swan River, which is in full splendor with the Spring snow melt runoff...it is rushing towards Flathead.  Today, we have been planning the next 9 days, lots of driving and sightseeing ahead.  This afternoon is Kerr Dam.
