8/15/2014

What a whirlwind it has been the last 5 days.  We drove from Prince George to Cache Creek, BC, where we dry camped for the night.  We also got a tour of the Historic Hat Creek Ranch.  That included a stage coach ride and a tour of the original houses.  We had sandwiches after and then sat around and talked into the evening.  The full moon coming up over a nearby mountain capped off the night.

The next day was a trip to Rosedale, BC. On the way, we made a stop at Hell's Gate along the Fraser River and a ride on the tram across the river and lunch on the other side...pretty spot  We stayed just the one night in Rosedale and then drove to Anacortes, WA on Tuesday.  That included the last border crossing for a while.  It went without incident for us...a few of the other folks in our group weren't as lucky, must have been training day.  We arrived in plenty of time to do lots of laundry and make repairs to the broken step on our rig.  We also went shopping for a few items that we waited to get in the US.  Then it was an evening social for the group and then we got some sleep.

Wed morning, we awoke to rain...ugh!.  We got the car hooked up and started our drive to Potlatch, WA. This included a ferry crossing of a part of Puget Sound and a 75 mile drive south on US 101.  Once at Potlatch, we parked the rig in the parking lot of a casino we had made prior arrangements for.  We packed up a few things and started our return trip via the same route and the same ferry, this time via the car.  Upon arrival back in Anacortes after a 7+ hour trip, we attended the farewell dinner for our caravan group.  There were a few tears, a bunch of laughs, and a lot of 'see you laters'.  No one wanted to say goodbye.  We have spent 59 days together and a lot of friendships have developed.

At 815, we got in the car, headed to Sea-Tac, about 2 hours south.  Our trip to Pittsburgh is up next.
