8/21/2014

Tuesday morning we drove to Sheldon to get the oil changed in the car and pick up a few groceries.  Then we drove west to meet the fine folks who kept our fish we caught in Homer frozen in their motor home freezer while we went to Pittsburgh, thank you Bill & Pat.  We had lunch in Cosmopolis, said our good byes and we headed north on US 101.  We drove all the way to Cape Flattery, which is the furthest NW point in the continental US.  It was quite a hike out to the point (back to the car was the most crazy) but the picture opportunity was worth the hike.  We then drove the 3+ hours back to Potlatch, arriving back at the camper just before midnight.

We were both pretty wrung out from Tuesday's trek, so we both sort of slept late.  Just before 10, Ann & Clint arrived and we sat around a talked for a bit, went to breakfast and then exploring the SE part of Olympic National Park.  Then we came back to the camper & prepared dinner...BBQ ribs, Halibut, potato salad, garlic bread & beans.  We ate on the patio outside next to Hood's Canal on a beautiful evening...very nice time...we don't see my sister & her family enough.  We both wish that we lived closer together and could see each other more often.  We are all retired now, so we hope to fix that in the future.

Today is our last day here, so we have some things to do to get ready to move to Oregon.  Then this afternoon, we are going to Ann & Clint's to celebrate Jenny's birthday.  That should be a fun time.
