Please go back to view the pictures added to the last 2 postings. Between too much going on and other issues, I am just now getting caught up...Thanks for understanding.
We left after the Farewell Dinner and drove the 2 hours to SEA-TAC for our trip to PA. This was one difficult deal. Given the reason for the trip, the length of it and the time of day, it was one of the roughest trips we have made. We left Seattle at 1245 am PDT and arrived in Pittsburgh at noon EDT...long night. We drove the last 50 miles to Grove City in a rented car and checked into a Best Western for a much needed nap. At 700 pm, there was a reception at the church. The folks streamed by for over 3 hours straight...there is lots of friends. Larry's brother & his wife from Arizona & his sister from North Dakota also came. Peggy & Larry have lived in Grove City for a long time and have a lot of friends...that will make this a lot easier on Larry.
On Friday morning, the memorial service was well attended too. The family gave a tribute to Peggy and Scott & Nathaniel played a couple of Peggy's favorite songs on the cello & guitar. Very nicely done. Nathaniel played some of his self-composed songs on the piano as folks filed into the sanctuary. He is a very talented young man. Scott finished the service with a very well done sermon. Peggy would be very proud of her family. After the service there was lunch and then a lot of folks got up and told all what Peggy had meant to them. Then it was back to Peggy & Larry's for fellowship. It has been a long day.
We did some sleeping in on Sat morning. But we spent the afternoon talking, the kids had a major baseball game, and then we went to the cemetery. We then headed back to Pittsburgh to prepare for our trip back. 400 am came early, a quick shower and a bus ride to the airport and a 645 flight to NYC. Then it was a flight from NYC to Seattle...long way across the US. We got back to the motor home, drove about 2 miles and set it up in Potlatch...right on Hood's Canal. We got some groceries and did a steak on the grill. Time for some sleep...it has been a rough week.
Today, we drove to Bellevue, WA to see my other sister Ann & her husband Clint. We sat around and talked a bit, Jenny stopped by, and we all went and had some dinner. They are going to do some exploring of the Olympic National Park with us on Wed and Jenny' has a birthday on Thursday, so we will see them then too. Spending time with family is very important...been a week for that. We are glad it is happening.
