Early start to our day, moving on from Radium Hot Springs to Banff Campground. On our way up and over the mountain we saw a couple of bears, lots of birds, and a few ground squirrels. The ride is beautiful!! Upon arrival, we went to the Lake Louise Ski area and took a ride up to the top via ski lift. Barb agreed to the outside chair versus a gondola and she enjoyed the ride. It took about 12 minutes to the top, pretty long trip. The view from up there is in a word, amazing!! It is directly across from Lake Louise and the lake, Chateau, & the glacier are pretty small from that distance, but with the help of a new lens for the camera, I was able to take some amazing pictures. The elevation makes a big difference too. On the ride down, I was also able to get a unique shot of our camper & the car sitting in the parking lot…interesting time, to say the least.
Next up, we moved the camper to the Banff Campground, just south of the road to Lake Louise & Lake Moraine. It is a beautiful park in a beautiful location, one of the more beautiful spots on earth. After setting up the camper, we went for a ride up to the Lakes again. And drove into the town of Banff via Bow Valley Parkway through the woods. Banff is a tourist town that was very busy when we arrived. No parking available, so we drove through and made our way back to the campground, pretty ending to a very pretty day.
