We are up early and moving again today. We are on our way to Fairbanks for 4 days and then we begin our trip to Anacortes, WA. Fairbanks is as far north as we will take the motor home, although we will fly to and from Coldfoot, AK on Friday, which is north of the Arctic Circle.
The scenery from Denali to Fairbanks was actually pretty bland compared to all the rest of the state we have visited. There was a lot of construction too, which made the going pretty slow. Just south of Fairbanks, we start to get some hills, but nothing too major. We had an address for a place we could get a new air filter for the motor home, which proved to be quite dirty when I checked it yesterday. Our address proved faulty so we gave up and went to the campground and got set up. We then went to find the filter at another place. We locate one ($202 at NAPA) and head back...we have to be ready for tonight's activities.
A bus picks us up at 430 to take us to a Salmon Bake and then to another show. The salmon bake was great, salmon, cod & prime rib and all the fixings. Then we walked a couple blocks to a show about Alaska presented by 5 people...we think we have seen enough shows of this type. We take the bus back and sit outside and talk to some of our neighbors...our new friends. We turn in sort of early, but I worked on this blog for a few hours, got it caught up...our Wi-Fi connections have been awful and hard to post anything.
