Norm & the gang provided breakfast...omelets & juice & coffee. Then Chance & I went shopping. First stop was a RV store, then looking for a replacement knob for the oven. Then it was to Best Buy for a battery for the camera & a phone antennae booster, then we both got haircuts. Good projects done.
While we were gone, the girls attended the drivers meeting and talked about tomorrow's move to Denali. Then Chance & Terry rode with us to Whittier, a town east of the route we took from Homer to Anchorage which is accessible by car only via a 2.5 mile tunnel. It is pretty cool, when you come out of the tunnel, you are on the shores of Prince William sound. We stopped on the way back and ate BBQ at a place called Turnagain Arm Pit...whatever. The food was OK.
When we got back, Chance & Terry's Great Dane was sick, glad that was not my problem. So we just hung around and got ready for our move tomorrow. We have a 240 mile move north...Mt McKinley will be the center piece, the highest mountain in North America. This state just keeps on amazing us.
