7/7/2014

Moving day again, this time a 78 mile jaunt to Tok, AK.  The Taylor Highway roads are still tough for the first 65 miles until we turned onto the Alaska Highway.  When we were last on the AH, we were in Whitehorse and the detour was both interesting and sort of stressful at the same time.  The road into Tok was wonderful compared to what we have been on.  When we arrived, we fueled up across from our campground at an amazing $1.50/gallon less than in Yukon...nice.  And we are to get a free car wash for both the motor home & the car, which was very much needed.  We then went to the campground and spent the next 2 hours washing RVs & the tow vehicles.  Everyone was tickled to not get filthy just touching the cars & RVs.

We then had an ice cream social while having our drivers meeting and then went to dinner with new friends. We have all been together for 21 days, so we are all getting to know each other...lots of personalities.

Then it was off to bed, another long day tomorrow as we travel to Valdez, 225 miles of more scenery.
