Another
early start, as a bus picked us up at 815 for a tour. Back to Lake Moraine, where Barb & I made
a climb to the top of the ‘Rock Pile’, a pile of rocks that were deposited by a
glacier, which dammed up the river and formed the lake over 10000 years
ago. It gives a spectacular elevation
adjustment so pictures from there are available from no other location. And the early time of day made it even
better. I got some amazing shots. From there, we went west into Yoho National Park
with several stops along the way, at the spiral railroad & natural bridge
and then back to Lake Louise. There we
were treated to a very scrumptious buffet at one of the dining rooms in the
Chateau Lake Louise, the world famous hotel fronting Lake Louise. Then we loaded up and rode the bus back down
Bow Valley Parkway to Johnston Creek Falls, then back to the campground. We then had a driver’s meeting and then a
campfire…sat around and told stories until about 1030. It is so hard to know when it is getting
late, it never gets dark at this latitude this time of year.
